Kapıkule Truck Parking was constructed in 2015 in order to provide a modern and safe staging area for TIR drivers who had to wait a long time on the road, in order to prevent the TIRs queues formed on the main road behind the Kapıkule Border Gate. While the truck park, which is located on an area of 93.000 sqm and has a parking area of 83.000 sqm, allows the drivers to wait in a more modern area, it also has also provided a solution to the problem of work and rest related to the tachograph by providing fuel saving.
Customs and Tourism Enterprises (GTI), which has made working with technology in harmony a principle, ensures the TIRs’ entrances and exits to/from the Border Gate are sequential by means of the pager (warning device) provided with the order number system working integrated with the Customs Office. Lorry drivers can obtain the exit order number via kiosks in the parking area and can easily keep up with the parking lot and exit warnings by means of warning devices given to them at the entrance. In the truck park, service areas such as food and beverage service areas, shower, WC, library and restroom, masjid, barber, market, dozvola sales office, which meet the needs of the drivers, have been established with modern technology.
