The Çıldır-Aktaş Border Gate, located in Ardahan, serves as one of Türkiye's key gateways to Georgia, alongside the Türkgözü and Sarp Border Gates. Modernized by GTİ in 2015, this border crossing spans 75,000 m² and is equipped with the latest technology. Strategically positioned, the Çıldır-Aktaş Border Gate offers a direct and shorter route to Tbilisi and Baku, easing access to Central Asia and alleviating traffic at the Sarp Border Gate. The modernization of Çıldır-Aktaş has opened new markets for regional provinces and significantly boosted foreign trade volume. This border gate not only plays an essential role in improving regional commerce but also enhances trade connectivity with neighboring countries. The infrastructure at Çıldır-Aktaş Border Gate includes 4 platforms for truck crossings (2 entry and 2 exit) and 2 platforms for cars and buses (1 entry and 1 exit), ensuring smooth traffic flow for both goods and passengers. Additionally, a lodging facility with 84 apartments has been built for public personnel working at the gate. For added convenience, Çıldır-Aktaş Border Gate offers a variety of amenities, including a Duty-Free shop, food and beverage areas, an ATM, and an insurance agency. Passengers and drivers can also access essential services such as restrooms and a mosque, ensuring a comfortable and secure crossing experience.
